My Pinterest Projects

Hey All!!
As you know I am a PinAholic which means I am addicted to Pinterest I am on it almost everyday!! I have over 650 PINS!!! That doesnt even compare to other PinAholics I know!!

Soo.....here are my latest projects!!! Feedback PLEASE!!!

Here are graduation wine glasses that I made for my friend I

She just graduated from OSU!!! CONGRATS GIRL!!

The decoration on the glasses are "Glass Paint"
You can buy that at Michaels and relatively cheap!

The bottom is "Spray Chalkboard Paint"
Also available at Michaels

Next.........
Here is a side view of what I call a SharkMelon

It is a watermelon cut in half and carved into what is suppose to be a Shark.

Dont be too harsh this was my first try I think it turned out pretty good!!

Compared to others not so good!

Here is a front view

The mouth is open (obviously lol)

You scrap out all of the watermelon so its hollow then you cut the watermelon and fill in the mouth with bits and pieces of different fruit.

The directions I had said to use a Melon Scoop (or something like that) but I didnt have one so my cousin actually helped me and used a rounded teaspoon to make some of the watermelon pieces in circles....you can see those pieces around the side and some in the mouth!!

Both of these are very simple and actually extremely fun to do!!!

PLEASE LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS!!!!

Also......more Pinterest projects too come!!!   :)

*Adorable* for Wordless Wednesday

My Cousin and My Daughter!!! Best Friends Forever!!!

ADORABLE!!! JUST STINKIN ADORABLE!!!

Filling A Void In My Life Pt. 2

2. Friends
This is part of the problem (I think) when I was in High School I went to a Technical School for Travel & Tourism our Travel class had I think 10 people in it! We were soo close all of us!! But once we graduated everybody went there seperate ways! A couple of us still remain friends but not like we use to!!

But really in High School its so easy to be BFF because we have no commitments, and  no responsibilities now we live in the real world where we have to work to pay bills and in most cases take care of our families!! I started going through scenarios in my head......

If I were to get engaged who would be my bridesmaids?

Bridesmaids are suppose to be your very close friends that you want to share this special moment with!

Its a pretty big deal!!!

As I sat at home and wondered who of my friends would be there standing beside me while celebrating this special time in my life I honestly could only think of 1-3 and really that took some serious thought!

If I was in the hospital who would come visit me?

In the event something exciting does happen in my life who would be the first few that I call?

All of these questions are really good questions and if you can sit here while reading this and honestly think of the handful of people that would be holding your bouqet or along side of your hospital bed or what have you than congrats!!

I dont know...for some reason I just dont feel as close to my friends as I used to...Its more like a every now and then relationship a casual "Hey! How are you? What have you been up to?"

That is dispressing by itself!!!
But still I feel like its something deeper!!

Filling A Void In My Life

So here lately I just feel like Ive been missing something...like there is this hole inside me that needs to be filled!

I sit at home thinking and thinking about this void in my life.......

I dont get it Why do I feel as if my life is not complete?

I am 23 years old, I have an amazing daughter and amazing family and friends!
What is missing?

I do not have a boyfriend or any special guy in my life but I dont see why something like that would impact me this much?

I feel like its something deeper than just a boyfriend!

So in trying to fill this hole in my life I have taken a step back and really looked at my life....
Starting with number one!! This may take a few posts....just a heads up   :)

1. Family
I love my family!! They are crazy, loud and hilarious...I wouldnt change them for the world-Honestly at this point in my life I dont think I can! he!he!he!
My family has all the normal family drama....arguements an fights between relatives and so forth nothing out of the ordinary!!

I have a kind loving mother Julia that is always there when I need her!! NO MATTER WHAT!! She has let Alyssa & I live with her since Alyssa was probably 3 weeks old! She buys groceries and makes sure we are fed and warm at night! The part that is so amazing to me is that she has never once even hesitated about this she never had to stop and think its just so natural for her to be nurturing and kind to others especially her family!! That is amazing!!

I have a loving father Coy who has been there whenever I needed him!! He provided for my family in ways that some other relatives couldn't at the time!! He gave me a car right before Alyssa was born because I was not working and did not have a car! He is the only reason that I am able to drive back & forth to work everyday!! Im Extremely thankful for that!!

I have an amazing sister Ashley she is there for me in a way that nobody can be!! Not just the "sisterly bond" but she is the most patient, and Godly person I know! She gives me advice more on the spiritual side than anything and that helps me keep my head up!! She has helped Alyssa & I in ways that I cant even describe!!! She planned & organized a Baby Shower for me even though she moved to KY!! She even missed work to come to OH and help my mother setup and host my Baby Shower!!

I have wonderful Aunts & Uncles nearby that help me out with Alyssa!! When I am working, or have meetings, or errands to run and even when I just need a break they watch Alyssa for a couple hours to even overnight!! Without them I would be crazy by now!! For real!!

Sometimes mothers just need that break! With the help from all of these loving and caring relatives in my life I get that break and "private time" that I need!!
Its definitely not Family!! But something deeper!

Im Feeling CrEaTiVe

Hey All!!

So for those of you that don't know.....Im OBSESSED with Pinterest!!

Im on there almost EVERYDAY!!

I think they have a lot of creative and cheap ideas for Weddings, Birthdays, pretty much any type of party! They have cute hair styles, advice on finger nail polish designs, cute clothing ideas, tons of homemade stuff!

I have put my talent to the test this week and have taken on 3 ideas from Pinterest to try and do for my friends Bridal Shower!! The Shower was Saturday (yesterday) and heres how it went...

Ideas...
1. Chalkboard Wine Glasses- Where the bottom is dipped in Chalkboard Paint

I did NOT dip my glasses in the paint I went to Michaels where they sell Spray Paint Chalkboard Paint
I then spray painted the bottoms and let them dry outside in the sun
I had to use 2 Coats to make it "Chalkboard"

2. Painted Wine Glasses- Where you paint any type of design wanted on the actual glass

Okay so this was ALOT harder than expected!! You have to use a Special kind of paint which I was un aware of! I did not have that paint so I googled alternatives!!

I ended up using Finger Nail Polish which is totally safe!!
But the problem was it started chipping and cracking after it had sat overnight
So I went to Michaels and bought "Glass Paint"

But the Shower was yesterday morning I gave the glasses to my friend and she LOVED them I told her I could redo them since they were cracking but she said no that they were fine as is!!
**The only issue is that with the finger nail polish you CANNOT wash them the Glass Paint is washable!! What I mean by "washable" is that when you wash them either by hand or in the dishwasher the Glass Paint is not effected as the nail polish will either come off or chip off!!**

After I painted everything I used Glitter Hair Spray and sprayed the paintings and the bottom just to add a little flare!!

3. Personalize Hanger- Where you personalize a clothes hanger for the Bride

This was my favorite thing to make!!

Honestly it was super easy!! I bought some hangers at Walmart then the wire and flower at Michaels

I bent the wire with pliers and just kinda molded it into what I wanted it to say and look like...then wrapped it around the hanger where it dips down for the straps!!

In all the pictures off Pinterest people drill holes in the bottom of the hangers then glue the wire into the holes but I was not equipped for all that! So I found a video on YouTube and they take you step by step on making these hangers and thats where I saw to wrap it around!

Then I used a Hot Glue Gun to glue the flower at the top of the hanger for a little extra decoration! Very Simple and my friend just adored it!!

All together I spent about $50 bucks buying supplies but just think all of these projects were homemade which is from the heart!

So this is what Ive been up to!! I am throwing some more ideas around in my head and will definitely keep you updated!!

Delay

Hey All,

Sorry for the delay in postings....As you know I am now Aunt Andrea!!

I got the call Tuesday that my sister and brother in law got a placement so Wednesday I drove to Kentucky after getting off work and of course after some shopping!!

I spent a couple days there with them trying to help them adjust to the new life they now have!! Now this is not a permanent placement but still they were put in our family for a reason so Im helping out as much as I can!!

I had soo much fun learning things about my nieces and nephews and it was great seeing my sister as a mother!

It is a very stressful and overwhelming thing.....But 100% worth every minute!!

I cant even imagine being a foster parent so BIG KUDOS to my sister and brother in law for putting thereselves out there like that!!

It is such a blessing and wonderful thing!!

Do you think you would have the strength to be a foster parent??
