Exciting News!!

If you guys have been listening to me & Ashleys podcast it talks about wanting to enroll our kids into school and all the different types of schools there are. Well we found an awesome school but unfortunately Alyssa wasnt able to go so we had decided on Ashley homeschooling Alyssa until possibly next year or even kindergarten.

After that I was honestly just so sad and discouraged.

I feel like since Alyssas dad is not in the picture I want to make sure that she has everything she needs to be smart and successful in life and there are many times that I feel that Im not giving her what she would have if she had two parents! I feel as if I fail her many many times!!

I dont ever want to fail my daughter I am all she has (parent wise) I want to be able to give her the world if thats what she wants!

So the thought of Ashley homeschooling to me was okay but I just really wanted Alyssa to go to school. I hear many horrible things about public schooling but then I look back and think you know I went to public schools Ashley went to public schools they are not super horrible!! We both turned out fine!

Private schools are nicer but then again I cant really afford for Alyssa to go to a private school! So I have to look at what Im capable of doing for her right now!

So I called the nearest elementary school and inquired about there -Head Start Program- (3 year old preschool) they gave me a number to call that then gave me another number to call that had me write down all the information and paperwork I would need to go through the application process! So I decided this...

I will do all I can to enroll her in a public head start program and if it doesnt work out then it doesnt work out but atleast I can say that I tried!

At the end of summer if my sister ends up homeschooling Alyssa that is fine as long as I can say that I did everything I could to get her into a public head start program.

Have you ever had trouble enrolling your children into school? Do you have secondary options incase your primary option doesnt work out? Do you have any advice on first time moms to preschoolers??

It Takes A Village!!

This post is based on two of Ashley and I's podcasts!! If you have not listened to them before you can listen to them from our links below!!

Well our podcast on February 27, 2013 "It Takes A Village" was us talking about "Communal Living"...two families coming together and living in the same houeshold...Whats your take on that?? Do you think it would be something your family could do?

Well for me and my sister it just seems like thats what we should be doing!! I mean Im over at there house everyday anyway why not just move on in!!!

Honestly it would make both of our lives easier right now....Ashley babysits Alyssa while Im at work which is 5 days a week anyway and we do pretty much everything together so even on my days off Im over at there house hanging out watching our hot new tv show Scandal or eating cookies and just chatting away on the sofa!!

It just makes since for us to move in witheach other and be one big happy family!!

So our podcast that we did March 6, 2013 "The New Chateau" was all about us moving in together!!!

We found the perfect house, in a perfect neighborhood and closer to not only my work but Michaels too!!

It just seems so fit for our families!!

The awesome part was that we had talked about this idea for awhile and started looking for houses but then stopped and then when we were not looking a realtor emailed Ashley about this house and she emailed back and forth for a couples day before touring it and then filling out the application!

When something this great just falls in your lap you cant turn away obviously it was meant to be!!

Just another example on how our awesome God provides for us!!

Ehhhhhhh Im just super excited!!

Although we will have to make some sacrifices it will be a lot better for Alyssa & I plus our future will be a lot better off because of this smart move!!!

What are your thoughts? Are you as siked as we are about this??? Do you have any advice for communal living?

Taxes!!!

So I filed my taxes I think a couple weeks ago. An as sad as this is to say they were pretty much already gone before I even got them!

I have a student loan that I really need to pay off!!

I know that I am bettering my financial state and mine & Alyssa future but I feel so poor!

Im not super poor but for the past two years I have took my income taxes and paid things off which is saying something about me!!

I use to be awesome with my money I use to save save save but then I started...... spending spending spending!!

I think everybody goes through that stage...hopefully!!

Well I had I think two credit cards that I paid off completely last year and then some medical bills that I had!

So it wasnt all bad debt from credit cards and my bad money managing!

So last year I paid off about 80% of my debt (which is awesome!!)  I then started paying on my student loan and sadly my income taxes this year still will not pay it off completely but it will get it down very low so that it is more managable monthly!

Which is super good!!!

But I cant wait for next year when I really wont have any bad debt to pay off hopefully I will be debt free before Feb. 2014!! Thats my goal!!

My entire yearly Goal was to become debt free which in all reality has been my goal for about 3 years lol

We all do stupid things when we are young....right??? Now its time for me to own up to my mistakes and to fix it and get my life back!!

Are you in the same boat??   Do you have any advice for me to help manage my spending??

My New Slipcover!

I am super excited about this!!  Probably more than I should be!

Before I moved here to Louisville my awesome sister in lawish Christy offered me her sofa and loveseat because they were getting new furniture! Of course I said yes!

I didnt have any furniture so something was better than nothing!

One of the slipcovers they had ripped so the sofa was covered but the loveseat was not...which didnt matter to me because like I said before something is better than nothing!!

I have been super poor lately...affording the move..transitioning...and trying to adjust here in Louisville!

Which honestly is to be expected...I think....isnt moving hard for lots of people?

Theres just a lot to do and a lot to take care of!

Well I have filed my taxes and while eagerly awaiting them the only thing I wanted for myself was a slipcover for my loveseat.....and finally I got it!!!

I am so thrilled and excited at how awesome my living room is looking!!

Alyssa took to the new look very well!! She is such a cuddly girl!!

Are you working on any upgrades to your home?

My Weekly Goals

So as you may know I have a weekly podcast with my sister Ashley

(you can listen along on Itunes..My Sidebar...or our Blog)

Every week during our podcast we do a "Goal" that we have set for ourselves.

This week mine was to do better for my Blog. I love blogging its just that sometimes I dont know what to write about.  (If you have any ideas please let me know!)

My life is boring and gets old very quickly!

All I do is work...spend time with Alyssa...and hang out with family

I work a lot especially here recently my supervisor is out on leave for personal reasons. But in the midst of all of that my coworkers have requested time off so we are pretty short staffed right now.

This week for example Im working a 10hr shift!! Then just a couple days later Im working a 9.5hr shift!

I am scheduled for overtime and we who work all know that just doesnt happen!!

This past week has just been craziness!

But I am really going to try to bring some nice interesting posts to the table this week!

Yay! For weekly goals!! ;)
